Monday's Meeting, April 27

Hello everyone, I hope you all are enjoying this warm spring weather. Take a break from the heat and listen to our fabulous speaker tonight, Tammy Roberts Meyers. We will meet at 6 p.m. in Scripps 111.

Tammy Roberts Myers is Vice President, External Communications for Limited Brands, Inc. She joined Limited Brands in May 2007 where she is currently responsible for establishing and building relationships with local and national media and non-government organizations; developing and coordinating the company’s external communications and corporate CSR strategies; providing leadership counsel on issues that could impact the reputation of the company; and collaborating on communication with the brand public relations teams within the company.

Prior to working at Limited Brands, Tammy was the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at Bob Evans Farms, Inc. where she managed and directed all investor relations, corporate communications and consumer relations activities.

Tammy earned her MBA from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.

Tammy serves on steering committees for Goodwill Industries and Children’s Hunger Alliance. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the National Investor Relations Institute.

Monday's Meeting, April 20

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Thank you to everyone who traveled to Columbus for the PaRtner's Conference. We hope there were valuable elements of the day and you took advantage to network with the great area professionals. Please join us at 6 p.m. in Scripps 111 to hear what to welcome three great professionals from PR 20/20.

A graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, Class of 2000,
Paul Roetzer is founder and president of PR 20/20, a Cleveland-based inbound marketing and PR firm. He is an entrepreneur, speaker, writer, average golfer, social networker and advocate for change in the PR industry.

Christina Capadona-Schmitz
is assistant vice president and consultant at PR 20/20. She joined the firm in March 2006 and has an active role in agency operations, client services and professional development. She holds her bachelor's degree in communication studies and PR from Baldwin-Wallace College. She enjoys volunteering in her community and creative pursuits in writing, baking and acting.

Tracy DiMarino
is an associate consultant at PR 20/20 where she isinvolved with client services, business development and account management. She graduated from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in March 2009. While at OU, she was a member of PRSSA, Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity and Colleges Against Cancer. She loves to read and scrapbook.

Monday's Meeting, April 13

Hello everyone,
I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend with friends and family. In addition to formally announcing our 2009-2010 executive board, we will have two familiar faces rejoining us in Scripps 111 at 6 p.m., M.J. Clark and Jessica Hamlin.

M.J. Clark has worked in the communication field for more than 20 years. She has a master's degree in organizational communication from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Ohio University. She was a visiting professor of public relations at Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism in 2006 and 2007, and she has won national and local awards for teaching and mentoring students.


M.J. owns a communication consulting business, M.J. Clark Communications, focusing on public relations, marketing and advertising. In addition, she is a leadership consultant for Integrated Leadership Systems, a leadership and team building training company in Columbus. Through company training and one-on-one executive coaching, M.J. helps clients become more self-aware so they can achieve their dreams. M.J. was the 2005 President of the Central Ohio Public Relations Society of America and is Accredited in Public Relations.


Jessica Hamlin has a master's degree in Media Management from Ohio University and bachelors' degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Global Cultures and Communications. She is also a graduate of Ohio University's inaugural Global Learning Community certificate program.


As Director of Marketing at Beulah Park Thoroughbred Racetrack & Event Center, Jessica has evolved a stagnant marketing department to a significant presence in the quad-state area over the past four years. Though budgets are shrinking, Beulah's brand value is stronger than ever through traditional & emerging marketing, facility use diversification, intense social media leveraging and web optimization. Last year, more than 80,000 unique global users viewed the BeulahPark.com website more than 1.7 million times. Focusing on relationship and brand building, Jessica has returned the marquis event Hot Air Balloon Festival to Beulah Park (Aug 21-23) and introduced many off-season events including AMA Flat Track Motorcycle racing and concerts.


Jessica is a Committee Lead for GracehavenHouse.org, a Central Ohio non-profit providing long term care to trafficked young women from 9-18 years of age and Vice President of the Columbus AMA. She also organizes the AMA's Out N' About networking events and is an active committee member of PRSA and the Soroptimists of Central Ohio.

Winter Quarter PRSuccess

Hello everyone,
It is finally here, the Winter Quarter Edition of PRSuccess. We have a lot of wonderful content that is useful for all communications majors and was written by dedicated members of Ohio University's PRSSA chapter. In addition I wanted to thank Michelle Honald, Paul Matson, Nicole Bersani and Sandi Combs who really helped lend an extra hand with this issue. Executive Board Candidates

Executive Board
If turned in a memo and your name is not listed, please notify us immediately. The procedure for Monday's elections are as follows:

1. Please arrive a few minutes before the 6:00 p.m. start time. There are several people that need to speak!
2. When you arrive, you will sign in on a member list in order to receive a ballot.
3. Each speech is limited to FIVE minutes. If you are delivering one, this is a way to introduce yourself to the chapter and talk about what you will bring to the position.
4. After each candidate has spoken, you will turn in your ballot.
5. The ballot count will be done immediately following the meeting. You are welcome to stay and hear the results, but not required! Otherwise, you will be notified via email.
