Monday's Meeting, January 11

Hey everyone-

We hope you all survived week one! Our first meeting of the quarter will be this Monday, January 11 at 6PM in Scripps 111. Joining us will be Erin Pope and Andrea Slesinski from Central Ohio PRSA.

Erin Pope

Erin is currently an account associate at Fahlgren Mortine Public Relations where she works on a variety of accounts including Kroger, Donatos, Morton’s The Steakhouse and White Hat Management. She joined Fahlgren Mortine in January as a spring intern and was hired on full-time after graduating from Ohio Dominican University this spring. She previously interned with Riverside Methodist Hospital, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Columbus Radio Group and another local public relations firm, where she gained experience in media relations and event management.

Starting in mid-January, Erin will take on a new role as a Media Relations Specialist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to follow her passion for healthcare and kids. She is a founding member and past president of Ohio Dominican University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and a member of Delta Sigma Pi. She currently serves as co-chair to the PRSA Liaison Committee as well as volunteers for Big Brother Big Sisters and their Project Mentor Program.

Andrea Slesinski

Andrea truly believes that she was born to be in public relations and communications. A writer, speaker and a thinker, Andrea enjoys crafting, distributing and evaluating messages on behalf of her clients. In her current role as a Media Relations Specialist at boutique multimedia production and media relations firm MediaSource, Andrea focuses on print, web and social media outreach for clients ranging from nationally-ranked hospitals to major fashion brands. Andrea’s commitment to achieving superior results have helped her land media placements with national outlets such as TODAY, USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, MSNBC.com, Glamour.com and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Before joining MediaSource, Andrea spent three years in the Columbus office of Cincinnati-based brand engagement agency Northlich, focusing on healthcare public relations and grassroots advocacy. A firm believer in “paying forward” all of the support she received as an undergraduate, Andrea is committed to area PR and communication students. She currently co-chairs Central Ohio PRSA’s Liaison Committee and serves as a professional advisor for the Ohio State chapter of PRSSA and Ohio State’s Media Marketing, and Communication Scholars program. Andrea is a 2006 graduate of The Ohio State University.
