ADAMH Board of Franklin County is looking for an intern during winter break who would like to gain the opportunity to gain hand-on experience and practical knowledge in non-profit/ governmental marketing, media relations, public affairs, community relations and event planning. Intern responsibilities would include assisting the ADAMH Public Affairs department with community presentation coordination, community events staffing, talking points/ speech development, news release writing, ad design, event planning details, etc. Qualified applicants should be college students seeking a degree in public relations, journalism, community relations or a related field. Prior public relations/ journalism coursework and familiarity with AP style is preferred. Candidate must possess strong writing, communications and organizational skills. The student must also have a vehicle to travel to community events throughout Franklin County. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator is a plus. This internship is unpaid, but there is free parking and mileage will be reimbursed for travel to and from community events. Hours are flexible and can be negotiated. Winter Intercession PR Internship with Cover Story Communications
Cover Story Communications is a full-service PR firm located in Pittsburgh PA that specializes in the promotion of lifestyle products and services. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience with internationally recognized consumer brands and should be enthusiastic, organized and creative. Responsibilities will include writing press releases, developing and managing media lists, researching story opportunities, managing clip reports, participating in brainstorming sessions and more. Internship is 20 hours a week and unpaid (mileage will be reimbursed for travel). Applicants must have at least a 3.2 GPA and must have completed their junior year of undergraduate study. Public relations majors are preferred but all specialties of journalism will be considered. Must have excellent writing, proofreading, organizational and communication skills and exhibit an eagerness and willingness to learn.
