#OhioU Social Media Summit speaker spotlight: Nate Riggs

The #OhioU Social Media Summit aims to inform and assist all journalism students with their professional social media use. For those more comfortable with social media, PRSSA will offer a series of advanced panels. Launching this series is Nate Riggs, who will discuss emerging social media platforms.

Riggs is a content marketing and community management strategist and Director of Social Business at The Karcher Group. The Karcher Group provides web marketing, web development and data services to clients. Among the company’s services are search engine optimization, blogging, website construction and web hosting. For the past 10 years, Riggs has advised mid-sized and large organizations such as Bob Evans Farms, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Bayer Animal Health, Ohio University and many others on leveraging brand story-telling and conversational marketing across the web to effectively reach consumers and to retain their attention. He also has founded Team Cbus, a content marketing production team.

Riggs writes an internationally read social business blog. The site, nateriggs.com, earns more than 25,000 hits monthly. In addition, he regularly contributes to Content Marketing Institute, Chief Content Office Magazine, Spin Sucks Pro, and his opinions have been quoted in publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Ohio News Network, Business First and USA Today. Riggs will be publishing a book this year about style guidelines for blogging. The Otterbein College graduate is a regular conference speaker, a proud dad of three boys and a devoted husband.
